Transfer Account Ownership

Learn how to transfer ownership of your Secure Privacy account to a verified admin using the account transfer feature. Follow these step-by-step instructions.

Secure Privacy provides a convenient feature that allows you to transfer ownership of your account to another verified admin. This can be useful when there is a need to change the primary account owner or transfer account ownership to another responsible party. Follow the steps below to initiate the account transfer process.


Instructions:


1. Login as account owner, open the Accounts page


- Access your Secure Privacy account by logging in with your credentials as the current account owner.

- Once logged in, navigate to the “Account” page from the top navigation bar.


2. Find the Account Transfer feature


- Scroll down to the “ACCOUNT TRANSFER” section on the “Account settings” page. 

Note that only the current account owner has the authority to transfer ownership.


3. Select New Account Owner


- In the “Account owner” dropdown menu, select any of the verified admins who you want to transfer ownership to. Make sure the selected user is added as an admin to the account and verified the account as well.

- After selecting the new account owner, click the “Transfer” button to start the migration process. This action will trigger the transfer of ownership from the current account owner to the selected admin.


Please note that the account transfer process may take some time to complete, depending on the size and complexity of your account. Once the transfer is initiated, both the current and new account owners will receive notification emails regarding the transfer result.


It's important to ensure that you trust the new account owner and have verified their credentials before initiating the transfer. The new account owner will assume full control and responsibility for the account, including managing privacy settings, making account-related and billing decisions.


Remember, only the current account owner has the authority to transfer ownership, so make sure to use this feature responsibly and in accordance with your organization's policies and guidelines.
