How to generate Privacy & Cookie policy

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account.

  2. Locate and click the “Privacy & cookie policy” item on the sidebar.

  3. Click “Generate new privacy policy” and “Next”.

  4. Continue answering questions by filling in required fields.

  5. After clicking “Save all” button, you have generated your personalized Privacy & Cookie policy! 


Note: the cookies/plugins data inside Privacy & Cookie Policy (for example, under the “With whom we share the collected personal information” section) is generated automatically, based on the latest scan results done to your domain.


How to reset Privacy & Cookie policy

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account.

  2. Locate and click the “Generator” section under the “Privacy & cookie policy” item on the sidebar.

  3. Click the “Reset my choices” button to revert back to defaults.

  4. Generate new Privacy & Cookie policy by answering questions/filling in required fields and clicking “Next”.

 

How to change the text inside Cookie Declaration

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account.

  2. Locate and click the “Preview and edit” section under the “Privacy & Cookie policy” item on the sidebar.

  3. Click on the “Cookie declaration” tab to switch to edit mode for your auto-generated Cookie Policy.

  4. You will be taken to the pre-generated Cookie policy, before editing, please select the ”Language” first!

  5. Scroll and click on the section you would like to edit.

  6. Click to edit anywhere inside the text field. Please note the text was already aligned with the appropriate legislation, make sure the edits are necessary.

  7. Click small green tick in the upper corner of the text input field tick to save and confirm changes made.


Note: the cookies/plugins data inside Cookie Declaration (policy) as well as some sections' names (for example, “Social media cookies” or “Analytics cookies” sections) is generated automatically, based on the latest scan results done to your domain. These system-generated parts of Cookie Declaration can not be edited (only the description section).


How to add a new section to Cookie Declaration policy

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account.

  2. Locate and click the “Preview and edit” section under the “Privacy & cookie policy” item on the sidebar.

  3. Click on the “Cookie declaration” tab to switch to edit mode for your auto-generated Cookie Policy.

  4. You will be taken to the pre-generated Cookie policy and before proceeding next, please select
    the ”Language” first!

  5. Click the “Add Section” button above to add it on top,

  6. or below the Cookie policy text to attach it at the end of your Cookie Declaration policy.

  7. In the “Add Section” modal window - add the section’s “Heading” and input the “Description”, click “Save”.

Note: currently, moving sections is not possible, but we consider this as a feature in the future releases.


How to change language/add a new language to Privacy & Cookie Policy

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account, locate and click the “Language” item on the sidebar.

  2. Select languages you would like to add into your account.

  3. Check “Active languages” list to your right for the languages you already have installed.

  4. “Save” settings via this button.

How to locate your Privacy & Cookie Policy (as a button) on your website

  1. Any visitor exploring your website will see the “Privacy & Cookie Center” in the left bottom corner after providing consent to your Privacy & Cookie Policy.
    Note: the icon and color scheme of the “Trust Badge” can be configured by you and may differ from the screenshot below.

  2. When clicked, it will pop-up as a modal window, allowing a visitor to change the “Language” of your Privacy & Cookie Center shown.

  3. The “Cookie Declaration“ is accessible to any visitor under the corresponding tab.


Embed options for Privacy & Cookie & Cookie policy

In case you pertain to embed the Privacy Policy into different sections of your website, these are the options that are currently available to you:

  1. By selecting type “Button” (3) you’ll get to choose:

    1. the Privacy & Cookie Policy button will be shown using the “Language” (4) you have selected

    2. the “Button Text” (5) to be shown to your visitors, adjustable to your needs

    3. the “Preview” showing the button and how it will be shown for your website guests

    4. the “Shortcode” (6) to paste in HTML/Source mode into a section of a page on your website

       

  2. A “Hyperlink” embedding option has the following settings -

    1. the Privacy & Cookie Policy hyperlink will be shown using the “Language” (4) you have selected

    2. the “Hyperlink text”, adjustable text to be shown to your visitors

    3. the “Preview” showing the link and how it will be shown for your website guests

    4. the “Link code” to paste in HTML/Source mode into a webpage on your site

       

  3. And a third option “Embed on website” (3) - your Privacy & Cookie Policy will be embedded as a full-blown page.

    1. Embedded Privacy & Cookie Policy will be shown using the “Language” (4) you have selected

    2. the “Embed on website” (5) code is to paste in HTML/Source mode into a page on your website


How to enable or disable Cookie Declaration

  1. Login into Secure Privacy account, locate and click the “Privacy & cookie policy” item on the sidebar.

  2. Click “Use on website”.

  3. Switching the “Enable cookie policy” will accordingly enable (green) or disable (gray) Cookie Policy on your website/domain.
