Secure Privacy offers a valuable feature that allows you to anonymize visitors' IP addresses, ensuring compliance with local privacy laws and guidelines. By masking IP data, you can enhance the privacy protection of your website visitors. Follow the steps below to configure the anonymization settings.

Instructions:

1. Login into your Account, access the Account page

- Access your Secure Privacy account by logging in with your credentials.

- Once logged in, navigate to the “Account” page using the top navigation bar.

- Select the “Anonymize data” tab from the left side menu. This tab contains settings related to IP address anonymization.

2. Configure Anonymize data feature

- Under the “ANONYMIZE VISITOR IP ADDRESSES” section, choose the desired level of IP address masking. The available options are as follows:

    - Without a mask: No masking is applied to the visitors' IP addresses.

    - 1 byte(s): Only the last byte of the IP address is masked. For example, 192.168.100.xxx.

    - 2 byte(s): Recommended option. The last two bytes of the IP address are masked. For example, 192.168.xxx.xxx.

    - 3 byte(s): The last three bytes of the IP address are masked. For example, 192.xxx.xxx.xxx.

    - Fully mask IP address: Complete masking of the IP address.

- Click the “Save” button to apply the changes account-wide.

How this works: Enabling IP address anonymization ensures that the configured last byte(s) of visitors' IP addresses are masked. This feature helps you comply with local privacy laws and guidelines. It's important to note that when selecting a higher level of IP address masking (2 bytes or more), geolocation accuracy may be affected.

By following these steps, you can configure the anonymization of visitors' IP addresses in Secure Privacy, providing an added layer of privacy protection.
